    Q:
How to replace the primary and secondary hood latch on Chevrolet Express 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The hood primary and secondary latch replacement starts by lifting and supporting the hood followed by marking both the Hood Latch position and fastener positions. First detach the bolts which hold the Hood Latch onto the radiator support then remove the Hood Latch from this location. The hood release cable needs to be detached from around the Hood Latch. Installation requires attaching the hood release cable to the Hood Latch and placing the Hood Latch onto the radiator support before securing its position with bolts which are left loose at first. Position the Hood Latch and fasteners at their marked locations before adjusting the Hood Latch for left-right movement until the striker fits properly into the Hood Latch slot. Adjust the height of both the Hood Latch and the front hood bumpers to match the top of the hood to the fenders before securing the bolts for the Hood Latch to radiator support at 15 nm (11 lb ft). Complete the adjustments then apply torque to 15 nm (11 lb ft) to Hood Latch bolts at the radiator support before closing the hood.

    Q:
How to replace the primary and secondary hood latch on Chevrolet Express 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Replace the hood primary and secondary latch by supporting the hood while marking the position of Hood Latch and fasteners. The Hood Latch retention to the radiator support requires bolt removal before the support can release the Hood Latch. Befoe proceeding disconnect the hood release cable from the Hood Latch. The Hood Latch installation requires you to start with attaching the hood release cable to the Hood Latch followed by placing the Hood Latch back onto the radiator support and fastening it with loose bolts. Follow the marked locations to position the Hood Latch and fasteners before adjusting the Hood Latch by shifting it sideways until the hood striker aligns perfectly; higher adjustments are made to the Hood Latch as well as front hood bumpers until the top of the hood rests horizontally to the fenders. Adjust the Hood Latch next before securing the bolts retaining the Hood Latch to the radiator support by tightening them to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). Finish by closing the hood.

    Q:
How to replace the hood latch on GMC Savana 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
A hood replacement procedure starts with supporting the hood in an elevated position before marking the Hood Latch position and its fasteners. Detach the bolts which hold the Hood Latch to the radiator support before removing the Hood Latch from this support. The hood release cable should be detached from the Hood Latch first. The hood release cable needs to attach to the Hood Latch before you can set the Hood Latch properly on the radiator support. Fasten the radiator support Hood Latch bolts in place without applying torque to them. Set the Hood Latch and fasteners directly on marked positions before adjusting the Hood Latch laterally to make the hood striker align with the latch. Perform vertical adjustments on both the Hood Latch and front hood bumpers until the hood tops match the fenders. Proceed to fasten the Hood Latch radiator support bolts at 15 n.m (11 lb ft) before shutting the hood.

    Q:
How to replace the hood latch on GMC Savana 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the Hood Latch involves enabling the hood's lift by support while marking the positions of the Hood Latch and fasteners. You must first detach the Hood Latch retaining bolts from the radiator support before extracting the Hood Latch from this location. Divide the Hood Latch from its connection with the hood release cable. The hood release cable connects to the Hood Latch before placing back the Hood Latch onto the radiator support. Start by putting the bolts on their respective places but leave them untightened first. Position the Hood Latch and fasteners according to the existing marks while adjusting the Hood Latch through left and right movements until the hood striker can easily connect to the latch. Next adjust the height of the Hood Latch and front hood bumpers to achieve smooth top alignment with the fenders. Close the hood then secure the bolts which hold the Hood Latch to the radiator support at 15 n.m (11 lb ft) torque.

    Q:
How to replace the primary and secondary hood latch on GMC Savana 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Caries out hood primary and secondary latch replacement by first lifting the hood then applying support followed by making marks on the Hood Latch location and fastener spots. The bolts securing the Hood Latch to the radiator support must be removed so you can take out the Hood Latch from this location. You need to remove the Hood Latch before you disconnect its hood release cable. The hood release cable must be connected to the Hood Latch before placing the Hood Latch onto the radiator support while avoiding bolt tightening at this point. The Hood Latch and fasteners should align with their marked positions before the user adjusts the latch for left-right movement to let the striker engage the latch. Locking height adjustments for both latch and Bumper ensure complete hood fender alignment. Complete adjustment of the Hood Latch to the radiator support and secure all bolts to a torque of 15 nm (11 lb ft). Then securely close the hood.
