Chevrolet Express 3500 A/C Hose Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the front A/C Hose in the HVAC system on Chevrolet Express 3500?
A: The first task to replace the hvac system's Evaporator tube requires recovering refrigerant from the a/c system. Start by removing the retaining bolt from the Evaporator case followed by pulling out the Evaporator tube from the Evaporator. Finally remove its o-ring seal. After getting rid of the radiator grille and Evaporator tube from the condenser proceed. When replacing the Evaporator tube of vehicles with auxiliary a/c features you must first position the car on safety stands and then extract the tube from its underbody front tube assembly on the auxiliary a/c Evaporator and remove the o-ring seal. First apply a new o-ring seal before coating it with 525 viscosity refrigerant oil. The installation of the Evaporator tube onto the condenser requires tightening it until torque reaches 19 n.m (14 lb ft). Begin by installing a second o-ring seal then apply 525 viscosity refrigerant oil to it. After that install the Evaporator tube to the Evaporator while tightening it to 19 n.m (14 lb ft). The Evaporator tube needs to be installed onto the auxiliary a/c Evaporator underbody front tube assembly followed by fastening it to 19 n.m (14 lb ft). The safety stands should be removed before dropping the vehicle. Wrap up the task by installing the retaining bolt to the Evaporator case then tightening it to 2 n.m (18 lb in). The technician should evacuate and recharge the a/c system before conducting the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) examination on all component fittings.
