The first step of replacing valve Rocker Arm and push rods requires removing the valve Rocker Arm cover followed by placing valve rocker arms pushrods and pivot support on a rack to maintain correct installation order. Bolt removal from valve rocker arms should be followed by removal of valve rocker arms and pivot support pipes. Finally remove the pushrods from their locations. The cleaning process should precede an examination of valve rocker arms and pushrods before distributing engine oil to these components and valve Rocker Arm bolt flanges. After installing the valve Rocker Arm pivot support apply pushrods carefully into the valve lifter sockets before installing the pushrods to seat properly at the Rocker Arm ends before fastening the Rocker Arm bolts. Install the rocker arms and bolts before turning the
Crankshaft to its top dead center position for compression stroke in which the first cylinder rocker arms will be off lobe lift and the Crankshaft sprocket key rests at the 1:30 position. Tighten both the exhaust and intake valve Rocker Arm bolts of cylinders 1-2-7-8 while the engine operates on firing number one until they reach torque values of 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.). Tighten the valve Rocker Arm bolts for cylinders 3, 4, 5, and 6 exhaust as well as for cylinders 2, 6, 7, and 8 intake to 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.). Place and fasten the valve Rocker Arm cover as the last step.
