Disable the SIR system and remove the upper and lower trim covers, making sure to write down the connector that's out of the abrasion sleeve on the steering column wire harness assembly to reinstall. Then, remove the wire harness assembly from the wire harness strap and then remove the turn signal & multifunction switch assembly connector from the SIR system coil connector. Pull the two connectors of the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly through the bulkhead connector before forcing the removal of the two pan head tapping screws and and that secure the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly to the steering column tilt head assembly. In installation, apply the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly onto the steering column head tilt assembly so that the electrical contact is in contact with the turn signal cancel cam assembly. Secure it using the two pan head tapping screws and not tightening the top screw to 3 Nm ( 30 inch lbs) and the side screw to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs). Push the two connectors into the bulkhead connector and reconnect turn signal and multifunction switch assembly connector to the SIR coil connector. Replace the abrasion sleeve onto the steering column wire harness assembly and make sure the ignition lock cylinder case wires and connector are placed properly. Lastly, install the wire harness assembly in the wire harness strap, reinstall the upper and lower trim covers, and activate the SIR system.
