How to reset the Idle Control Valve on Chevrolet K3500?

One should start the engine for 20 seconds before turning OFF the ignition for 10 seconds and finally restarting the engine to check for correct idle speed. Idle Control Valve resetting requires a scan tool to connect to the Data Link Connector followed by turning ON the ignition with the engine off. First find the Idle Control Valve Reset option in Special Functions of the scan tool, select that option then activate the reset function until the Idle Control Valve counter stops before starting the engine to check the proper idle speed.
