Chevrolet K3500 Fuel Injector Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the fuel injector on Chevrolet K3500?
A: Service and repair of the Fuel Injector requires vehicle operators to start by using fuel pressure gauge (J 34730-1A) to reduce pressure in the fuel system after removing the negative battery cable. After safely disconnecting the upper Intake Manifold alongside the Fuel Rail assembly users should discard the injector retainer clip before they can extract the Fuel Injector assembly. Buy new fuel injectors only after selecting the appropriate model for the target application. Keep the o-ring back up pieces for reassembly while discarding both old injector o-rings at the ends of the injector. Clean engine oil should be used to lubricate new o-rings which requires placing the injector o-ring back up properly. The Fuel Injector assembly should enter the Fuel Rail socket until its electrical connector faces outward before adding the new retainer clip onto the Fuel Rail injector. After reinstalling the Fuel Rail assembly with the upper Intake Manifold connect the negative battery cable before inspecting for fuel leaks by activating the ignition switch on for two seconds followed by switching it off for ten seconds and repeating the on sequence with leak inspection throughout.
