How to replace the A/C Accumulator in a refrigeration system on Chevrolet Lumina?

Starting the accumulator replacement requires removal of the air cleaner and duct assembly. Remove the refrigerant first before disconnecting the compressor hose nut and suction line nut from the accumulator. Set the lines to the side once disconnected. Remove the accumulator bracket bolt and the accumulator from the system while discarding its o-ring seals on the compressor hose and suction line. During installation first attach the accumulator followed by the bracket bolt and finally use 4 n.m force (36 lb in torque) to tighten the bracket bolt. Before installing new o-ring seals and seal washers onto the compressor hose and suction line you must apply mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil as lubrication. The suction line integrations requires a proper 47 n.m (35 lb ft) torque value on the accumulator nut before moving forward with compressor hose installation at 16 n.m (12 lb ft). Evacuation and charging of the system must occur before an inspection for leaks and the reinstallation of air cleaner and duct assembly.
