  The necessary tool to replace a Fuel Injector is the fuel line quick connect separator (J 43178). The replacement process starts with unfastening two fasteners and two plastic retainers before removing the engine cover . Before starting remove the fuel pressure while taking off the quick connect coupling cover. Users must disconnect the coupling for the fuel feed hose from the fuel feed pipe of the Fuel Rail by utilizing the fuel line quick connect separator (J 43178) while collecting leaking fuel with a shop towel. Minimally disassemble the fastener from tv cable bracket before moving tv cable and bracket away from the Fuel Rail assembly. Remove the fasteners from the Fuel Rail by disconnecting electrical connectors from the fuel injectors. Use your tools to remove the Fuel Rail assembly together with its spacers and then disconnect the fuel injectors by removing their o-rings as you separate the grommets. Place new o-rings and grommets onto the fuel injectors before applying clean engine oil to them. Put the fuel injectors into the Fuel Rail before you position the Fuel Rail with spacers onto the engine by using the 2 fasteners at 18.5 n.m (13 lb ft). The fastener connecting the engine to the tv cable and bracket should be tightened to 8.8 n.m (77 lb-in). You should connect the fuel feed hose quick-connect fitting to the Fuel Rail's fuel feed pipe before putting on the fuel quick connect coupling cover. Pressurize the fuel system by turning on the ignition then turn the ignition off before reconnecting the negative Battery Cable. Thoroughchecks of the vehicle should be carried out for fuel leaks with necessary repairs conducted. The last installation step includes putting back the engine cover which should be fastened with the 2 fasteners set to 8.8 n.m (77 lb in). Afterward install the 2 plastic retainers.
