The replacement of gasoline engine fan clutches requires beginning with upper
Fan Shroud removal. Follow the procedure by attaching the Fan Clutch remover and installer (J 46406). Begin by counterclockwise rotation of the fan hub nut from the
Water Pump followed by bolt removal from the Fan Blade's rear to detach the Fan Clutch. Start Fan Clutch installation by tightening Fan Blade bolts in the back with 23 nm torque while keeping them at 17 foot pounds. The Fan Clutch remover and installer (J 46406) should be used to reattach the Fan Clutch after installation by applying clockwise tension to reach 56 nm (41 ft. Lbs.). Replace the upper Fan Shroud during the completion of the process.
