Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Radiator Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the radiator for the 4.3, 4.8, 5.3, and 6.0L engines on Chevrolet Silverado 1500?
A:
The Radiator replacement for engines with 4.3, 4.8, 5.3, and 6.0l power requires the removal of both cooling fan and shroud as your first step. Closely detach the Radiator outlet hose which is designed for each engine model. The Radiator requires the removal of its engine oil cooler lines if present followed by dismantling transmission oil cooler lines in case they exist. The Radiator can be properly removed through the process of bolt removal. When installing the Radiator users should put it back into position before securing it using bolts which should be tightened to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). After connecting the transmission oil cooler lines the installation continues by attaching engine oil cooler lines when such a system exists. Remove the Radiator outlet hose according to engine type specifications before reinstalling it and refitting the cooling fan assembly with its shroud.
