A: To replace the transmission mount on an automatic transmission - 4l80-e/4l85-e, first lift and support the vehicle, and then to support the transmission using a transmission jack. Take off the transmission mount to the transmission support retaining nut or nuts and lift up the transmission to relieve the load from the mount. Then take off the transmission mount and the transmission mount's bolts that connect between the transmission and transfer case adapter, and lift the transmission high enough to remove the transmission mount from the car. For installation, place the transmission mount back onto the vehicle and bolt the transmission mount to the transmission or the transfer case adapter mounting screws with a 50nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Reduce the transmission and install it to the transmission support retaining nut or nuts and tighten the nuts to 40 nm (30 ft. Lbs.). Finally, take off the transmission jack and lift the vehicle.
