After disconnecting the
Spark Plug wire and removing the
Rocker Arm you need to squeeze the bolt of the valve spring compressor to begin the
Valve Stem Oil Seal replacement. Take room-temperature spark plugs out of the Cylinder Head by turning them 1 or 2 times then cleaning them with an air gun before pulling them out completely. Insert the Spark Plug port adapter (J 22794) into the valve hole and connect compressed air through the
Air Hose to lock the valves. With the valve spring compressor j 38606 compressed to set the valve spring and take away valve stem keys and gradually drop the valve spring load. Carefully take out the valve spring cap, valve spring, Valve Stem Oil Seal, and shim (1, 5) from their positions. Apply engine oil to clean valve seat and shim areas before inserting the Valve Stem Oil Seal and shim (1, 5). Then put valve spring and valve spring cap on top. Position the valve keys properly inside the valve stem groove while adding grease to hold them. Then mount the valve keys using the valve spring compressor (J 38606). Lower the valve spring pressure slowly while keeping the valve keys fixed in place then remove the compressor. To seat the keys correctly use the flat end of a plastic hammer to strike the valve stem tip. First disconnect the Spark Plug port adapter j 22794 from the Spark Plug hole then crank the engine by hand before setting the Spark Plug to 15 nm torque setting. Put in the
Spark Plug Wires to the
Ignition Coil then link the spark wire to the Spark Plug. Verify the wire placement and put back any loose protective boots before setting the Rocker Arm in place.
