The required steps to replace the front Coil Springs are raising and supporting the vehicle, removing the engine protection shield if installed, de-mounting the tire and wheel assembly. Then, take away the shock absorber and the front stabilizer shaft link. Mount the coil spring compressor adapter (J 23028-15) employing the outboard locating tab and fix the holding hook onto the
Control Arm, tightening the wing nuts in order to remove any free play. Safely fasten the coil spring remover and installer (J 23028-A) to an appropriate transmission jack and lift to bring the yokes of j 23028-a at the same level with the notches of j 23028-15. Make use both tools with addition of the transmission jack to releive the spring tension from the lower Control Arm pivot bolts and remove the lower Control Arm pivot bolt, rear pivot bolt and front pivot bolt. Carefully drop the transmission jack to drop off load of the front coil spring, and pry off lower Control Arm by using a pry bar if needed to get the lower Control Arm out of place and remove the coil spring and insulator. For installation, position the coil spring and insulator on the lower Control Arm and lift the transmission jack to compress the front coil spring, and if it is necessary, position the lower Control Arm using a pry bar. Mount the front pivot bolt, rear pivot bolt, and lower Control Arm pivot nuts, which are to be tightened to 145nm (107 ft. Lbs.). Lower the jack and take off the coil spring compressor adapter (J 23028-15) from the control arms. Finally, reinstall front stabilizer shaft link, shock absorber, tire and wheel assembly, engine protection shield if equipped, and lower down the vehicle.
