Chevrolet Suburban 2500 Coolant Reservoir Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the front coolant reservoir on Chevrolet Suburban 2500?
A: Start replacing the surge tank by draining the cooling system fluid. Start by removing the air cleaner assembly next. Detach the surge tank overflow hose while you disconnect the low coolant level switch electrical connector . Start by moving the clamp off the surge tank inlet hose then take out the hose. Next move the outlet hose clamp then remove the outlet hose. Remove the surge tank by first removing its securing bolt and nut then unmounting the surge tank. Mount the surge tank back in its place before installing the bolt at 9 nm (80 inch lbs.) torque followed by tightening the nut until it reaches 9 nm (80 inch lbs.). First reposition the surge tank outlet hose clamp while reconnecting this hose then reposition the surge tank inlet hose with its clamp installed. Finish by connecting the low coolant level switch electrical connector before installing the surge tank overflow hose then reinstalling the air cleaner assembly. Finishing the process entails cooling system filling.
