Q: How to replace the Lash Adjuster with active fuel management on Chevrolet Tahoe?
A: Removing the Cylinder Head and gasket from both the right and left sides, you can replace the lash adjusters with the active fuel management. Then remove the Lash Adjuster guide bolts (211) and the Lash Adjuster guides (210) together with the adjusters remembering to mark the position the guides were installed in, relating the notched area with the locating tab of the engine block. Take off the lash adjusters (209, 219) of the guide (210) and if there is a need clean them and check them. When installing, rub the lash adjusters (209, 219) and the engine block Lash Adjuster bores with clean engine oil and then insert the adjusters to the guides, flat area of the side with an active fuel management adjuster all together with the guide part should be in agreement, a notched area should match with the raised section of the adjusters. Install the lash adjusters and guide (210) up to the engine block while taking necessary precautions on fasteners, and secure with Lash Adjuster guide bolts (211) at 12 nm (106 lb in). Lastly, reinstall the Cylinder Head and gasket on either side.
