The automatic transmission shift lock control actuator requires installation by securing it to both steering column jacket assembly and cable shift cam assembly while reattaching the electrical connector. Adjust the actuator by first pulling out the tab on the adjuster block and pushing down the adjuster block to release tension from the internal springs then pull the adjuster block rearward as far as possible before locking it using the tab. The actuator should be checked for three functions: it must maintain the shift lever clevis in park position yet release it when the brake pedal depresses.
