Chevrolet Tahoe Transmission Oil Cooler Hose Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the Transmission Oil Cooler Hose on Chevrolet Tahoe?
A: The first step to replace a transmission fluid cooler hose/pipe involves the removal of front bumper fascia. The bracket requires tipping back by first removing the fasteners from the front upper fascia support. Cut the transmission fluid cooler hose from connecting points which are established between the auxiliary Oil Cooler and the Radiator. Begin by first lifting the vehicle then remove the engine protection shield. The first step is to detach cooling lines from the transmission and thereafter extract right differential carrier mounting nuts and washers while avoiding air-powered tool usage because accurate bolt torques are necessary for proper diagnosis. Start by removing the lower Control Arm shock rear mounting bolt from the right front side while draining the vehicle of its oil cooling lines. The first installation step requires fitting the transmission Oil Cooler lines but it is essential to use manual tools to prevent addition of air. To finish installation the mechanic must bolt the right shock rear mounting bolt to the lower Control Arm at 50nm (37 lb ft) and tighten the right differential carrier mounting nuts and washers to 100nm (75 lb ft). The cooling lines must be connected to the transmission as you install the engine protection shield and lower your vehicle to finally join the transmission fluid cooler hose between both Radiator and auxiliary Oil Cooler. The completion of the repair requires reinstalling the front upper fascia support bracket while reinstalling the front bumper fascia as well.
