The replacement of the oil level indicator and tube starts by separating the oil level indicator from the guide tube before draining the cooling system. Detach the upper
Radiator Hose from the Thermostat Housing next while removing the four fan nuts and four
Radiator shroud fasteners in a way that protects the Radiator from damage. Start by tilting the shroud toward the engine before removing the fan from its position on the pulley hub and then you can take out the shroud with its attached fan unit. The generator adjustment bolt needs loosening to remove the generator
Drive Belt and coolant pump pulley in succession. First remove the twc bolts attached to the cylinder block and afterward take out the guide tube from the oil pump body. Install the new guide tube seal by applying engine oil before inserting it into the oil pump body for attachment to the cylinder block by tightening twc bolts to 14 nm (10 ft. Lbs.). After placing the oil level indicator onto the guide tube the technician should install the coolant pump pulley followed by the generator Drive Belt and finally the generator adjustment bolt. The installation of both fan and shroud must be done together until all four fasteners are tightened to 11 nm (8 ft. Lbs.) along with all four fan nuts. The engineer should adjust the generator Drive Belt tension followed by reconnecting the upper Radiator Hose to the Thermostat Housing and completing necessary cooling system refills.
