Raising the vehicle serves as the first step for replacing the Secondary Air Injection Pump. Disconnect both air inlet and air outlet tubes from the secondary air injection (AIR) reaction pump before proceeding to remove the electrical Relay from the air pump housing and disconnect the electrical connector from the air pump. Drain the 3 bolts attaching the air pump bracket to the vehicle frame and extract the air pump from its position. Position the air pump back into the vehicle and install the 3 bolts to the vehicle frame while tightening them to 20 nm (15 lb ft). Proceed with installing the electrical connector onto the air pump followed by putting back the electrical Relay on the air pump bracket. The air pump installation requires clear air inlet and outlet pipes without debris which need to be connected following pipe installation. Finally, lower the vehicle.
