A.I.R. Pump

The vehicle elevation process starts the replacement of the Secondary Air Injection Pump. Start by disconnecting both air pipes from the secondary air injection (AIR) reaction pump followed by removing the electrical Relay from the air pump bracket while disconnecting its electrical connector from the air pump. You must detach the air pump bracket from the vehicle frame through 3 bolts before extracting the air pump from the vehicle. Position the air pump inside the vehicle then install 3 bolts to fix the air pump bracket to the vehicle frame while tightening them to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). The electrical connector should be connected to the air pump before reinstalling the electrical Relay onto its mounting bracket. The air pump installation process requires clean pipes for air inlet and outlet before the connection to the pump and both pipes must be linked. Finally, lower the vehicle.

Raising the vehicle serves as the first step for replacing the Secondary Air Injection Pump. Disconnect both air inlet and air outlet tubes from the secondary air injection (AIR) reaction pump before proceeding to remove the electrical Relay from the air pump housing and disconnect the electrical connector from the air pump. Drain the 3 bolts attaching the air pump bracket to the vehicle frame and extract the air pump from its position. Position the air pump back into the vehicle and install the 3 bolts to the vehicle frame while tightening them to 20 nm (15 lb ft). Proceed with installing the electrical connector onto the air pump followed by putting back the electrical Relay on the air pump bracket. The air pump installation requires clear air inlet and outlet pipes without debris which need to be connected following pipe installation. Finally, lower the vehicle.
