    When changing the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor, drain the cooling system using the appropriate. Push the electrical connector heat shield up the wiring harness and remove the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor. Since this is a service procedure, the ECT sensor is removed from the vehicle and then replaced by another new ECT sensor and tightened (to 22 Nm (16 lb ft)). Another method used is to substitute a new throttle body and bolt it to the engine manifold. Always ensure proper diagnostics are set up before proceeding. The ECT sensor and slide the electrical connector heat shield down over the connector. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the ECT sensor and slide theistream electrical connector heat shield down over the connector. Finally, deflate the cooling system using the approved filling procedure.
