  A: Replacing valve lifters requires the lower Intake Manifold to be removed first. Start by removing valve Rocker Arms and pushrods while recording that guide bolts cannot be removed from the valve lifters. Start by depressing the valve lifter guide bolts then extract the valve lifter guides and then pull out the valve lifters from the guides. All gasket surfaces require cleaning with degreaser. Application requires prelube coating of valve lifters which can then be positioned inside the cylinder bores. Threadlock solution must be applied to the valve lifter guide bolt threads before the valve lifter guides can be installed. The valve lifter guide bolt torque should be set to 10 n.m (89 lb in) before reinstalling valve rocker arms and pushrods. Install the lower Intake Manifold as the final step.
