  A: Replacement of the rear object sensor starts with removing the rear bumper fascia. A person must raise the housing locking tabs before extracting the rear object sensor. You should depress the spring before letting it disconnect from the housing. Afterwards remove the housing by releasing its tab locations. Remove the rear object sensor bezel which is mounted on the rear fascia surface. Avoid repainting sensors that have been painted before to be used. The new rear object sensor needs paint application followed by measuring its thickness to make sure the value remains under 6 mm using a non-ferrous metal-compatible paint thickness gauge.
