    A:
    In order to change the Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch, first, raise the vehicle and drain out engine cogolent. After lowering the vehicle take the wire connector off the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor and remove the ECT sensor. Before installation, apply sealer GM P/N 12346004 or an equivalent to the ECT sensor threads, then install the ECT sensor and torque it to 20 N.m (15 lb ft). Reattach the ECT sensor electrical connector, refill the engine with the coolant, and test the engine to identify possible leaks, before checking the engine coolant once more.
