How to service the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor on GMC C2500?

Always maintain gentle handling of the intake manifold temperature (IMT) sensor to protect the honeywell without touching the sensor elements because exposure to substances including cleaning solvents or lubricants is prohibited. The sensing elements remain free from touching while no substances including cleaning solvents along with lubricants should make contact with them. The air duct benefits from a modest application of non-silicone based lubricant for installation purposes. Start the procedure by opening clamps (1,3) at the maf-imt sensor and Throttle Body. Next remove the air intake duct from both maf-imt sensor connectors and Throttle Body connectors. The maf/imt sensor electrical connector needs removal followed by loosening the clamp that holds the maf-imt sensor to the air cleaner housing. Once this step is complete, you can take out the sensor from the air cleaner assembly. When installing the maf-imt sensor direct the embossed arrow toward the engine before securing the sensor onto the air cleaner housing. Complete sensor installation by attaching the maf-imt electrical connector then reinstall the air intake duct to maf-imt and Throttle Body followed by clamping down the maf-imt sensor (1) and Throttle Body (3) installations.
