How to replace the Parking Brake Shoe on GMC C2500?

You should lift and support your vehicle before changing the Parking Brake Shoe. Pull out the wheel and remove the caliper and the mounting bracket attached to it as one piece. Take the tension off the park brake cables by loosening the nut where they attach to the equalizer. After that, pull the end of the brake cable from the lever. After that, take out the rotor and the Axle Shaft. Next, get rid of the park Brake Shoe return springs (4 and 6), the anchor springs and pins for the park brake shoes (3) and the park brake shoes (2). After removing the debris, download the repair guide. As per the guide, put the park brake shoes in place (2), add the anchor spring and pins (3) and return springs (4 and 6). Adjust the park Brake Shoe and then put the Axle Shaft in place. Then, install the rotor and the park brake cable to the brake lever, tighten the nut at the equalizer so that torque is 3.5 n.m (31 lb in ). Lastly, put the caliper and bracket together and then the tire and wheel as a whole, move the safety stands out of the way and lower the vehicle. Adjust the parking brake's cable when instructed.
