To replace the tailgate handle on the utility car, one should pull down the tailgate and see the trim panel and then see the latch assembly cover from tailgate. Then, take off the two bolts and washers that are found at the back of the tailgate behind the handle assembly before pulling up the tailgate. Carefully pull out the handle assembly and disengage latch operating rods from the clips seated on the handle by pushing them to the rear end to ensure that the whole handle assembly is removed from the tailgate. For installation, install back the handle assembly in the tailgate as well as latch operation rods in clips on the handle. Lower the tailgate, and attach the two bolts and washers on the handle assembly on the back of the tailgate, do not tighten, 4 N.m (35 lb in). Finally, install the latch assembly cover to the tailgate; make sure that both gates are closed for the appropriate alignment, and re-install the tailgate trim panel.
