GMC Canyon Radiator Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to Service and Repair a Radiator on GMC Canyon?
A: A technician starts Radiator replacement by removing the Fan Shroud along with raising the vehicle. The Radiator outlet hose needs to have its clamp slightly adjusted by using j 38185 (Hose Clamp Pliers) before the hose is removed. The first step involves disconnecting transmission cooler lines from the Radiator at which point you should lower the vehicle then remove the Radiator vent inlet hose. The condenser separation process requires removal of the Radiator mounting bracket bolt followed by the Radiator mount then the grill before unbolting the condenser mounting bolts that allow the condenser to disconnect from the Radiator for subsequent Radiator removal. Position the new Radiator and then join the attached condenser followed by the bolt tightening to 28 n.m (21 lb ft). Secure the Radiator mount bracket to the fitting holes before installing the mounting bracket bolt and grille while tightening the bolts to 28 n.m. Connect the Radiator outlet hose and set the Radiator outlet hose clamp position by using j 38185 on the raised vehicle. At the end of this process you should reconnect the transmission cold lines to the vehicle followed by lowering the vehicle before installing the Radiator vent inlet hose and a final installation of the Fan Shroud.
