  A: Beginning the replacement of the secondary air injection pump starts with opening the hood to disconnect the inlet hose quick connect fitting of the secondary air injection pump and the outlet hose quick connect fitting of the pump. Begin by eliminating the engine shield while disconnecting the engine wiring harness electrical connector which is attached to the AIR pump wiring harness electrical connector. Push the clip holding the AIR pump wiring harness electrical connector together and raise it to detach from the bracket while slipping off the harness after opening the connector clip. Lower the vehicle after removal of AIR pump nuts while repositioning inlet and outlet hoses that allow you to extract the pump. After positioning the AIR pump you should raise the vehicle to access it for installation. Fasten the AIR pump nuts by tightening them to 9 Nm (80 lb in). Place the AIR pump wiring harness electrical connector clip back on the bracket followed by attaching the wiring harness to the clip before closing the clip. Utilize the engine wiring harness electrical connector to join with the AIR pump wiring harness electrical connector before replacing the engine shield and installing the inlet and outlet hoses and their respective quick connect fitting on the pump.
