How to replace the windshield wiper motor on GMC Canyon?

To replace the windshield wiper motor, be sure the wiper arms in the 1/2 wipe position and the ignition key is in the OFF position. Uninstall the wiper arms and remove air inlet grille panel and also remove wipe transmission. Use the Wiper Linkage Separator (J 39232) to unlink the transmission link from the wiper motor crank arm ball stud and then detach the fasteners that connect the wiper motor to frame assembly while dislodging the wiper motor. For installation, place the wiper motor on the wiper transmission frame and fix with bolts tightened to 9 N.m (81 lb in). The socket must be lubricated with the Mult-Purpose Lubricant Supelube, GM P/N 12346241 (Canadian P/N 10953474), or Alternate. Finally, fit in the transmission drive link socket on the crank arm ball of the wiper motor using the Wiper Linkage Installer (J 39529).
