  Q: How to replace the cooling fan and fan shroud on GMC Envoy?

  A: The cooling system drain operation should start by removing the air cleaner assembly along with the air resonator assembly and inlet Radiator Hose. The first step involves disconnecting both Fan Clutch electrical wires and the transmission oil cooler lines from the Fan Shroud. The j 46406 (Fan Clutch Remover and Installer) tool should be used to remove the Fan Clutch from the Water Pump followed by removing mounting bolts from the upper Fan Shroud. Place the Fan Shroud inside the radiator space after pushing it toward the nose to access the commencement of the filler neck. After that, extract both the Radiator fan and shroud components. Place the fan assembly back into position then attach the upper Fan Shroud mounting bolts while tightening them to 28 nm (21 ft. Lbs.). Control the Fan Clutch installation on the Water Pump through the j 46406 (Fan Clutch Remover and Installer) before reconnecting the electrical connector of the Fan Clutch and restoring the complete set of parts including the inlet Radiator Hose and air resonator assembly and air cleaner assembly. Finally, fill the cooling system.
