How to replace the primary hood latch on GMC Jimmy?

The first step for hood primary latch replacement consists of raising and supporting the hood. Use a flat-bladed tool to open the cable clip by inserting it in the cable clip then detach the cable and pry the cable housing off the primary latch. Place marks on the mounting bracket position before removing bolts that fasten the primary latch bracket to the radiator support and subsequently detach both components from the vehicle. After removing all bolts which secure the primary Hood Latch to its mounting bracket you should take out this latch. Install the primary Hood Latch onto the mounting bracket by running bolts securely while torquing them to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Secure the primary Hood Latch assembly to the radiator support while maintaining its marked alignment and install bolts that should be tightened to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Install the cable housing of the primary Hood Latch assembly into the latch and fasten the cable inside the latch container clip. Complete the inspection of the Hood Latch operation before closing the hood.
