For replacing the engine front cover, unhook the engine
Oil Pan, disconnect it from the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector, then remove the crankshaft balancer and
Water Pump from the engine. Then remove the ckp sensor and its seal (O-ring) and throw away the old seal. Remove engine front cover bolts and upon removing the composites engine front cover make sure to replace it with a new engine front cover instead of old one. Clean all sealing surfaces prior to the installation of the new engine front cover and bolting it in place with bolts torquing to 12 nm (106 inch lbs.). It should not be crucial not to reuse the original
Crankshaft Position Sensor seal (O-ring); new seal should be lubricated with unadulterated engine oil prior to installing it onto the Crankshaft Position Sensor. Make sure that the ckp sensor is fully fitted in the engine front cover bore to avoid erratic engine operation. Lastly, replace the ckp sensor, engine Oil Pan and simultaneously reconnect the ckp sensor electrical connector, replace the Water Pump, and the crankshaft balancer.
