  A: First step to replace the power Window Motor starts with unfurling the counterbalance spring tension since failing to do so creates a risk of injury from the regulator lift arm. The installation step includes fixing a self-tapping, pan head sheet metal screw through the sector gear which locks the gear in position with the backing plate at the marked hole. The power Window Motor needs to be removed from the Window Regulator after drilling out its two attaching rivets. When installing the power Window Motor to the Window Regulator release the counterbalance spring tension once again. The replacement process includes using two rivets to fasten the power Window Motor onto the Window Regulator while removing the self-tapping, pan head sheet metal screw from the sector gear and backing plate hole before reinstalling the power Window Regulator.
