The power window service requires removing the power Window Regulator through tension release of counterbalance spring to prevent harmful injuries from the lift arm. Obtain sector gear placement stability by drilling a self-tapping pan head sheet metal screw between the sector gear and backing plate through their designated hole. Drilling two rivets that connect the power Window Motor to the Window Regulator enables you to remove the motor from its regulator. Apply power Window Motor installation onto the Window Regulator before mounting the two rivets to retain the motor position. Reinstall the power Window Regulator as the final step after removing both the self-tapping pan head sheet metal screw from the sector gear and backing plate holes.
