You should both drain fuel from the tank and remove the fuel filler cap until the fuel level drops below the Fuel Tank fill hose. The technician needs to first elevate the vehicle and ease the two fuel fill hose clamps before extracting the fuel fill hose while sealing the Fuel Tank opening with a cap. The installer needs to uncap the Fuel Tank before installing the fuel fill hose while clamping it down with a torque of 2.75 n.m (24 lb in). After lowering the vehicle users must add fuel to the tank before reattaching the fuel filler cap and reestablishing the negative Battery Cable.
