    Q: How to replace the throttle cable on GMC Savana 2500?
    A:
    The first step to change the accelerator controls cable requires removing the engine cover and the air cleaner assembly. First reverse the accelerator cable from the throttle body lever then take it out from the cable bracket. The first steps involve unclipping the accelerator cable from both engine sight shield mounting bracket and generator bracket before removing left instrument panel (IP) insulator. Squeeze the retainer of the accelerator pedal lever to disengage it from the retaining mechanism. Slide the cable through the dash panel while using your fingers to push the accelerator cable cover tangs . Finally, remove the accelerator cable. Insert the accelerator cable through the dash panel and attach the accelerator cable cover tangs before placing them into position. Place the accelerator cable in the slot of the accelerator pedal lever before installing the retainer into its position on the lever. You should hook the accelerator cable to the throttle body lever before placing it into the accelerator cable bracket slot. While maintaining pressure on the engine sight shield mounting bracket locking tab you should clip the cable onto the generator bracket. Attach the accelerator cable by fitting it through the engine sight shield mounting bracket. Throttle operation should be checked through accelerator pedal manipulation where the carpet installation needs to fit properly below the pedal in addition to measuring throttle movement without binding from a fully closed position to wide open throttle position (WOT). After completing the installation the correct order is to reinstall the left instrument panel insulator followed by the air cleaner assembly and engine cover.
