How to replace the alternator bracket on GMC Sierra 3500?

The generator bracket replacement process requires you to start by untightening the battery cable junction block bracket bolts and continue with removing the fan and clutch and the drive belt idler pulley. Begin by removing both the generator followed by its bracket bolts and nut and generator bracket stud. When removing the generator bracket put in the new one while obeying the fastener notice from the service precautions section. When installing the generator bracket stud secure it with a torque of 20 n.m (15 lb-ft). Secure the generator bracket components using bolts followed by nuts by tightening them to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Reinstall the generator and then add the drive belt idler pulley as well as the fan and clutch before securing the battery cable junction block bracket bolts to 9 n.m (80 lb in).
