The valve Rocker Arm and push rod replacement starts with removing the Rocker Arm cover. The motor fires from 1, 8, 7, 2, 6, 5, 4, 3 beginning with left bank cylinders 1, 3, 5, 7 first. Place all rocker arms pushrods and pivot support in a rack until reimplementing them in their original positions while removing the number one cylinder
Spark Plug. First remove the Rocker Arm bolts before taking off the rocker arms together with the Rocker Arm pivot support and pushrods. You should clean the Rocker Arm components and inspect both the rocker arms and pushrods for necessary action. Before replacing all parts clean engine oil must be used to lubricate the Rocker Arm and pushrods and to coat the bolts on their Rocker Arm flanges. Position the Rocker Arm pivot support while the pushrods should fit correctly into valve lifter sockets followed by pushrod installation at the rocker arms without tightening bolts at this time. Fit the rocker arms into place along with the bolts according to the engine firing sequence. Place the Crankshaft in a position where the number one Piston reaches top dead center (TDC) compression stroke under the condition that number one cylinder rocker arms maintain zero lobe lift. The engine needs to maintain its present position for tightening the exhaust valve bolts of cylinders 1, 2, 7, 8 to 30 n.m (22 lb ft) and intake valve bolts of cylinders 1, 3, 4, 5 to 30 n.m (22 lb ft). Next adjust the Crankshaft one full circle before securing the exhaust bolts of valves 3, 4, 5, and 6 to 30 n.m (22 lb ft) strength while tightening the intake bolts of cylinders 2, 6, 7, and 8 to 30 n.m (22 lb ft). The engine maintenance requires the installation of both the number one cylinder Spark Plug and the Rocker Arm cover.
