To replace the upper intermediate Steering Shaft, install the
Steering Column anti-rotation pin (J 42640) in the Steering Column you had first pass through the lower access hole. See that the wheels of the vehicle move straight ahead, and the Steering Column is in the lock position to avoid causing the sir coil assembly to be damaged. Mark the relationships of the bolt and clamp on both ends of the upper intermediate shaft and connection between the upper and lower intermediate shafts for proper installation. Unscrew the nut and bolt from the lower shaft to upper shaft join and the one from the upper shaft to the Steering Column. Extract and remove the accelerator pedal position sensor, and slide the intermediate shaft down and out of the Steering Column connection. After that, slide the upper intermediate shaft towards the instrument panel out of the lower intermediate shaft, and extract out the vehicle. For installation, feed the lower end of your upper intermediate shaft into the lower side through the bulkhead aligning the marks done in its course to bring it out to install the same if reuse the same shaft. Mount the upper end of the upper intermediate shaft to the Steering Column and lock it using the bolt and nut until the nut is tightened to 62 nm (46 ft. Lbs.). Finity the accelerator pedal position sensor and reconnect the upper and lower intermediate shaft as securely as possible with the bolt and nut, tightening the nut achieving 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Finally, pull off the Steering Column anti-rotation pin (J 42640) from the Steering Column lower access hole.
