How to replace the water pump on a 4.3L engine on GMC Sonoma?

As a first step for replacing the Water Pump on a 4.3l engine you need to drain the cooling system and free the Water Pump Pulley bolts. Take off the cooling fan and clutch assembly then the Drive Belt. Detach all bolts from the Water Pump Pulley before removing the pulley and mounting bolts. Separate the Radiator outlet hose from the Water Pump by removing its clamps and bolts. Also detach the Water Pump outlet hose from its position before extracting the Water Pump using all mounting bolts. Start by taking off both Water Pump gaskets before cleaning the surfaces where the gaskets attached. Place new Water Pump gaskets on engine and fasten Water Pump in place using gm p/n 12346004 sealer on bolt threads. Adjust the Water Pump bolts to 41 nm and connect the Radiator outlet hose to the pump assembly. Fasten the Water Pump Pulley with 25 nm torque before installing the belt and fan clutch assembly. To complete installation add fluid to the Radiator and check for fluid leaks.
