  Q: How to replace the cruise control module on GMC Yukon XL 1500?

  A: Replacements start with loose bolts from the upper tender brace assembly followed by upper fender brace assembly removal. The electrical connector of the cruise control module requires removal before loosening the module mounting nuts on the cowl. Disconnect the cruise control cable from the module before removing the module out of the car. Position the cruise control module inside the vehicle after which securely connect the cruise control cable and proceed according to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Fasten the cruise control module to the cowl by installing nuts which need to be tightened to 9 N.m (80 lb in). Secure the electrical connector at the cruise control module by reattaching the brace while bolting it to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
