A mechanic should elevate and stabilize the vehicle before starting to replace the spring shackle. Drain the leaf spring assembly from the vehicle in the first step. First extract the bolt along with its attached shackle nut from the spring. When installing the shackle you should apply it to the spring while strictly following the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Fix the shackle bolt together with the shackle nut onto the spring before torquing the shackle nut to 95 Nm (70 ft. lbs.). The leaf spring assembly should be reinstalled to the vehicle followed by safety stand removal then lowering the vehicle.
