  A: The process to replace the accelerator controls cable starts by taking out the engine sight shield then disconnecting the throttle body lever from the cable before extracting it from its bracket. Begin by unhooking the accelerator cable from the mounting bracket of the engine sight shield before extracting the left panel insulator. The accelerator pedal lever requires the removal of its retainer using several steps which start by pressing the accelerator cable cover tangs to push the cable toward the dash panel for extraction. The new accelerator cable installation starts with putting the cable through the dash panel followed by checking that the cover tangs properly fit. Drill the cable through the slot located at the accelerator pedal lever before placing the retainer inside its position. Connect the accelerator cable to the throttle body lever, insert it through the slot on the accelerator cable bracket before fastening the locking tab to complete. Check the throttle range by pedaling the accelerator pedal while making sure the throttle moves without any restriction between full opening and shutting.
