How to replace the ABS Control Module on Chevrolet Classic? Posted by Customer
    A:
A suitable hoist must first raise and support the vehicle before the left engine splash shield should be taken off so the ABS Control Module replacement can be performed. The connector position assurance (CPA) needs removal from the lock tab before the tab can be pressed down and the cover opened to disconnect the ABS Control Module harness connector from the ABS Control Module. Pre-screw removal of the ABS Control Module to bpmv screws requires cleaning the ABS Control Module/bpmv assembly from all dirt and debris. To protect the bpmv surface and solenoid valves use a tool minimally due to gently remove the ABS Control Module through the bpmv. After cleaning the ABS Control Module gasket and bpmv surface with alcohol solution through a clean rag application you should install the ABS Control Module to the bpmv and fasten it with 4 screws tightened to 5 nm (44 inch lbs.). Install and secure the ABS Control Module harness connector to its slot in ABS Control Module. After that, use the finger to activate the harness tab. Finally, reposition the connector cover. The cpa and left engine splash shield need to reinstall before lowering the vehicle for diagnostic system check - vehicle execution.
