Actuator

A dual zone system requires removal of the instrument panel compartment before proceeding with right air temperature actuator replacement. First disengage the electrical connector from the right air temperature actuator that should be located in its proper position. Severe the actuator by removing its bolts/screws then extract the actuator from its position. The actuator levers (3, 4) must be taken off when removal is required. Start installation by inserting actuator levers and ensuring the actuator lever fits correctly into the door during this process. Test the fitment of actuator levers (1, 2) before installing the actuator lever while ensuring primary tooth (3) of lever (3) lines up correctly with lever (2). To complete the installment, attach the right side air temperature actuator through bolts/screws while targeting 1.2 N.m (11 lb in) torque settings. Connect the electric connector while making sure the clip extends fully into the case mounting unit holder. The final step is to replace the instrument panel compartment while also performing actuator re-calibration procedures.

The process for changing right side air temperature actuators in dual zone systems requires initial instrument panel compartment removal followed by actuator locator. Starting with disconnecting the electrical connector from the actuator you should remove all bolts-screws that retain the actuator before removing it. You should discard actuator levers (3, 4) only when required. When installing the actuator lever make sure it enters the door properly before you add the actuator levers if required to check their correct engagement with levers number 1 and 2. Elapsed the actuator lever into its proper position while at the same time lining up its primary tooth with the gap created in the actuator lever. Add the right side air temperature actuator into place and fasten it with bolts-screws applying 1.2 N.m (11 lb in) torque. Reconnect the electrical connector after checking that the clip extends beyond the case holder completely before putting back the I-P compartment. Finally, re-calibrate the actuators.

Install the air temperature actuator lever, ensuring it is inserted into the door correctly.

If necessary, remove the actuator levers (3, 4).

If necessary, also remove the actuator lever.

Finally, re-calibrate the actuators as needed.

Remove the bolts/screws securing the air temperature actuator and take out the actuator.

Reinstall the I/P compartment and re-calibrate the actuators.
