    A:
To replace the electronic navigation antenna, you need to remove the instrument panel (I/P) trim pad. Next remove the 2 settings of the plastic rivet retainers, which hold the global positioning system (GPS) antenna to the carrier I/P. Then you take the radio off and pull GPS antenna from the retaining clip at the back of the radio followed by taking the GPS antenna loop lead off the HVAC duct work. Route GPS antenna in addition to the coaxial antenna lead from the I/P carrier. For installation, firstly attach the GPS antenna along with the lead of the coaxial to the carrier of the I/p also ensure coaxial lead is being used to pass through the radio. Reconnect the GPS antenna loop lead to the HVAC duct work and secure the GPS antenna to its retaining clip at the rear of the radio. After that, re-install the radio and fix the GPS antenna on the I/P carrier using the 2 plastic rivets. Lastly, reinstall the I/P trim pad.

    Q:
How to replace the cellular and navigation antenna assembly on Cadillac XLR? Posted by Customer
    A:
The process of replacing a cellular and navigation Antenna assembly starts with the removal of windshield garnish molding. After grasping the Antenna assembly at the windshield you can begin by sliding it towards the vehicle's passenger side to remove the retaining clips from the windshield bracket. Lower down the Antenna coaxial cable from its position on the windshield header while you disconnect the coaxial leads from the Antenna Base and then remove the Antenna from the vehicle. Both installation and Antenna placement begin with attaching the assembly to the windshield before establishing connections between the Antenna and coaxial leads. Start by routing the Antenna coaxial cable along the windshield header before aligning the Antenna assembly with windshield bracket retainers and pushing the assembly toward the vehicle's driver side until the retainers lock in position. After installation remove the windshield garnish molding.
