Throttle Cable

Service technicians should start with engine shield removal before conducting throttle body lever disconnection from the Throttle Cable. They should then remove the cable from its bracket. Take out the left panel insulator while unclipping the accelerator cable from the engine sight shield mounting bracket. To start work on the accelerator cable retainer first separate it from the accelerator pedal lever before squeezing the accelerator cable cover tangs and pushing the cable through the dash panel for extraction. Installation begins with steering the accelerator cable into the dash panel but the accelerator cable cover tangs must snap into proper position during this step. To install the accelerator cable push it into the slot of the accelerator pedal lever followed by placing the retainer into position. After attaching the accelerator cable to the throttle body lever you must slide it into the bracket slot then lock the tab by inserting it. Complete throttle control can be checked by testing the accelerator pedal while inspecting the throttle for free operation from full stop to maximum wide open throttle (WOT) position. Do this check by clipping the accelerator cable into the engine sight shield mounting bracket. Install the left instrument panel insulator along with the engine sight shield.

First, unattach the Throttle Cable/linkage from the throttle body lever; then, remove it from both the accelerator cable bracket and the routing bracket and go on to remove the accelerator pedal (2) and dash panel (1). First, attach the accelerator cable to the dash panel (1), then to the accelerator pedal (2), then fit the cable routing bracket, the accelerator cable bracket and end with the throttle body lever.

Attach it to the accelerator cable bracket.
