The wire or string should be tied to the new hood cable before feeding it through the instrument panel opening. The small flat-bladed tool should push the grommet into complete position before you remove the wire or string. Mount the hood cable ball to the latch structure followed by tightening the hood latch fasteners to 10 N.m (89 lb in). The final step involves reinstallation of the upper fascia support followed by the knee bolster and hood cable handle together with side trim panel and hush panel appearance.
