    Q:
How to service and repair the rear parking brake cables on Buick Park Avenue? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step of servicing and repairing rear parking brake cables begins with safely raising the vehicle before securely supporting it. Tightening the adjuster nut will reduce cable tension for you to disconnect the right and left rear parking brake cables from the rear equalizer . Depress the conduit fitting retaining tangs on the bracket then remove the conduit fitting before the rear tire and wheel assembly removal. Then remove the cable retainer bolts from the right and left while unfastening the cables from the parking brake levers. The depressions of the conduit fitting retaining tangs enable removal of right and left cables from caliper support brackets followed by removing the parking brake rear cables. The right and left rear parking brake cables should be placed into the vehicle after which the conduit fits onto the bracket through bracket snapping and the cables should be secured to the equalizer. Position the right and left cable retainer bolts then wipe the right and left cables through the caliper support brackets before connecting the parking brake cables into the parking brake levers. Reinstall tires as well as wheel assemblies before you adjust the Parking Brake Cable.
